Hello everyone!
In the words of Maisie Peters: “I’m doing better, I made it to September. I can finally breathe”. And it is so true! I come alive in the ‘ber’ months and I can already feel myself becoming more me again after pushing through the Summer (my least favourite time of year).
I spent this week making the most of my last few days with the kids at home because, as much as I dislike the Summer, I have really enjoyed having the kids at home and spending time with them, so having to send them back to school feels emotional. On top of that, one of my kids has just started Year 6 so I have to apply for his secondary school placement soon too! My babies are all growing up so fast!
Thursday, the boys went back to school and the morning routine was surprisingly easygoing. The boys got up and ready nicely and went in with no fuss. The only downside was when I got home and didn’t have “Mum! Mum! Mum!” Every five minutes. As productive as it’s been, I almost resent being able to think straight. I was crazy amounts of excited for picking them up at the end of the day! And I was not disappointed! Both boys had a wonderful first day back. Both boys were very well behaved and overall it was a really good day.
Now… as much as these blogs do tend to be upbeat and humorous, I am actually a human being and I do have bad days. I have been fairly blessed in that this year, I have not suffered as badly with my mental health and 2026 is being kind and gentle with me (touch wood)! However I still have bad days or days when my anxiety (I’ve named it Rascal: I’ll explain that in a video) decides to torment me needlessly or my mind is so loud that nothing seems to drown it out. That said, I plan to dig deeper and talk about these things in more detail now that the crotch goblins have returned to education. So watch this space, because shit’s about to get real!
Lotsa Love
