I figured my first blog post should probably introduce me and give you a taste of what's to come. So... hi! I'm Sophie, aka Soph and this is an insight into my world and the weird and wonderful workings of my mind.
The first thing I need to say is that I am not running a professional support group, nor am I a licensed counsellor. I'm just winging it like everyone else and hoping what I've learned and my honesty can help others somehow. I can be a listening ear and offer advice on things I do know but not to a professional level (I will always advocate for finding a counsellor as well).
The second thing you should know is that I am a huge music fan, especially when it comes to Harry Styles and the One Direction lads. I was a closet Directioner in the days of the band for reasons I'll probably share at a later date but I've been a fan for 16 years! I love all kinds of music besides them though. From classic rock to club bangers... even some country music! Music is so much more than something to dance for to me.
You will probably hear me mention Alfie Allen occasionally too. I have the biggest crush on that man! Nobody tell him... 😅😂 My favourite colour is red, but like a crimson kinda red and I enjoy doing cross stitch and reading as well as playing Xbox. Although I'm struggling to find time for those things recently! I love my family and friends fiercely and I am an empath so I get emotional seeing the people I care about, suffer. Sometimes I'm funny, a lot of the time I'm quirky and weird and most importantly, I'm honest! I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression as a teenager and have come a long way since then, although I'll be the first one to say, I'm still far from perfect. But I don't want or need to be perfect, because I'm me. And that's enough. I've also experienced domestic abuse and multiple bereavements, close together and dealt with more narcissists than I ever wanted to encounter. But I'm still here, still growing and healing and always learning!
